Simrad NAC Autopilot Core Packs
Product Overview
Simrad offers a comprehensive range of autopilot cores tailored for different vessel sizes and power requirements. These include the NAC-3 High-current Core Pack, the NAC-2 Low-current Core Pack, and the NAC-1 Course Computer, each engineered to deliver reliable, precise steering control across a variety of marine environments.
The NAC-3 High-current Core Pack is designed for larger vessels (10 meters/33 feet and above) with high-current hydraulic drive units, mechanical drives, or solenoid valves rated up to 30A continuous and 50A peak. It features advanced control algorithms, interfaces for multiple rudder feedback options, and robust waterproof protection (IPX7). It supports heavy-duty drive systems and interfaces seamlessly with systems like NMEA 2000® and NMEA 0183.
The NAC-2 Low-current Core Pack is tailored for vessels up to 10 meters (about 33 feet), supporting low-current hydraulic drives, mechanical drives, and solenoid valves rated at 8A continuous and 12A peak. It includes a virtual rudder feedback option for easy installation, and also integrates with NMEA 2000® and NMEA 0183 networks. It is splashproof with IPx5 protection.
The NAC-1 Course Computer is a simpler, dedicated steering brain designed for outboard and drive pilot systems, providing essential control for smaller vessels and outboard setups, and includes only the core electronics needed for basic autopilot function.
