The Simrad RF40 is a medium-duty rotary rudder reference unit designed for precise rudder angle measurement, suitable for NAC-1 and NAC-2 autopilot systems. It provides a +/-120-degree rudder angle measurement, enabling smooth and accurate steering. The RF40 offers a plug-and-play connection with NAC-1 and NAC-2 autopilot computers, featuring an attached 15-meter (49-foot) cable with a removable connector for easy installation and application flexibility. Its extended cable and direct connection make it an excellent alternative to NMEA 2000® sensors, especially where extending a vessel’s NMEA 2000® network to the rudder is impractical.

The RF25N is a high-precision, medium-duty rudder feedback unit with NMEA 2000® output. It measures rudder angle within +/- 120 degrees, with an accuracy of approximately +/- 0.5 degrees. It comes with a 5.5-meter Micro-C cable for direct connection to industry-standard Micro-C systems, supporting straightforward installation in various vessels.
