Product Description

The ACR GlobalFix series are advanced Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs) suitable for a wide range of recreational and commercial vessels. The GlobalFix V6 Cat II (Model 2854) offers robust 406 MHz satellite distress transmission with Return Link Service (RLS), which confirms receipt of a distress signal via a flashing blue light. It includes Near Field Communication (NFC) to communicate with a smartphone app for detailed diagnostics such as battery health, self-tests, and GPS fixes. The device transmits GPS, Galileo, and Glonass GNSS positions accurate to within 100 meters to the global Cospas-Sarsat satellite rescue network. It also emits a 121.5 MHz homing signal alongside visible and infrared strobes to aid proximity rescue.

The GlobalFix V5 AIS CAT II (Model 2852) adds Automatic Identification System (AIS) functionality, broadcasting distress alerts on VHF frequencies to nearby AIS-equipped vessels for faster local response. It retains all the features of the V6, including Return Link Service and NFC diagnostics.

The GlobalFix V5 AIS CAT I (Model 2851) adds hydrostatic release (auto-deploy) to Category I certification, making it suitable for automatic deployment if the vessel sinks. It shares technology with the V5 CAT II model, including AIS, RLS, NFC, and strobe options.

All models operate with long-life lithium Li/FeS2 batteries that are replaceable every 10 years or after beacon activation, are waterproof to 33 feet (10 meters), buoyant, and provide a minimum of 48 hours operational life even in extreme cold.
