Furuno FI-5001 and FI-5001L Wind Transducers (Require Cable)
Models:
FI-5001 (Standard Shaft Length 370mm)
FI-5001L (Long Shaft 720mm)
TheFuruno FI-5001series analog wind transducers are designed for use with NavNet 3D and FI50/FI70 instrument displays. Both models accurately detect wind angle with better than ±10° accuracy and wind speed with better than ±5% accuracy at 20 knots. They require less than 40 mA power from a 12V DC system.
The FI-5001L features a longer shaft for improved visibility and performance on sailboats or powerboats requiring greater standoff from the mast.
Important:Neither sensor includes a cable as standard. Users must order a 30-meter or 50-meter cable kit separately. Each cable kit includes a junction box for secure connections and ease of installation.
Key Features
Analog wind vane capable of precise wind direction and speed measurement.
Power consumption: less than 40 mA at 12V DC.
Shaft lengths: 370mm (FI-5001), 720mm (FI-5001L) for different mounting needs.
Wind angle accuracy: better than ±10°.
Wind speed accuracy: better than ±5% at 20 knots.
Compatible with NavNet 3D, FI50, and FI70 series instruments.
Suitable for both sail and power boats.
Installation Notes
Mount the transducer on the mast with the base parallel to the waterline and vane pointing to the bow.
Four self-tapping screws are provided for secure mounting.
The sensor connector mates with a 30m or 50m cable assembly (sold separately) with integrated junction box.
Optional lock fittings are included for secure mounting.
Data is output as analog signals, converted for use on FI70 or TZtouch displays via IF-NMEAFI Analog-NMEA2000 converter.
What’s Not Included
Transducer cables (30m or 50m cable kits must be purchased separately).
