Product Description

Lewmar 8-plaited nylon anchor ropes feature an advanced braided construction of 8 individual strands, providing superior performance and durability over traditional 3-strand ropes. This design allows the rope to relax when not under load but tighten firmly as load increases, carrying the same tensile strength as a 3-strand rope with less stretch and reduced tendency to coil or form “birds nests” in the locker. The 8-plait rope doesn’t twist, knot, or loop onto itself and is significantly less prone to stiffness in saltwater environments. Its higher absorbency adds weight, improving how the rope falls in the anchor locker, enhancing anchoring reliability. Users should pre-soak the rope to enhance lubrication and prevent initial slippage or sticking when used dry.
