These rodes require sufficient anchor locker depth and volume since gravity, not the windlass, stows the rode. The 3-strand construction is 20-30% less expensive than 8-plait but will stiffen in saltwater over time. Maintenance involves soaking in fresh water with fabric softener overnight to restore flexibility; replacement is recommended if stiffness persists.
