Product Description

The Shakespeare 5215 Squatty Body® antennas are low-profile, end-fed 1/2-wave stainless steel whips designed primarily for masthead mounting on sailboats, favored for their compact form and lightweight durability. The standard 5215 model features a hermetically sealed, tin-plated copper coil with a stainless steel body and 36-inch whip. It comes with an SO-239 connector and stainless steel L-shaped mounting bracket. It offers reliable marine VHF communication with 3 dB gain and 50 watts max input power. The antenna has a nominal SWR of 1.5:1 at 156.8 MHz across a 7 MHz bandwidth and a 50-ohm impedance, with no DC ground.

The 5215-AIS variant is tailored for AIS transceiver bandwidth requirements, featuring extra bandwidth engineering while maintaining the same size, materials, and mounting arrangements for optimized AIS communication.

The 5215-C-X includes the same antenna as the 5215 but adds a 60-foot RG-8/X low-loss coaxial cable with two PL-259 connectors (included) for flexible installation.
