Product Description
The Shakespeare Galaxy Little Giant™ series offers heavy-duty marine antennas designed for general communication and entertainment band reception. The 5400-XT and 5401-XT model antennas provide durable, 4-foot collinear-phased 1/2-wave coaxial sleeve VHF antennas that are ideal for installation on T-tops, hardtops, and other elevated positions. They feature brass and copper elements for maximum range and efficiency, stainless steel ferrules with standard 1-inch 14-thread mounting, and come with 20 feet of low-loss RG-8/X coax cable and a PL-259 connector (not installed). The fiberglass radome has a high-gloss, non-yellowing polyurethane finish in Galaxy white or black.
The 5396-AIS Little Giant™ is specifically designed for AIS transceiver bandwidth requirements, featuring a broadband VHF antenna with 3 dB gain covering the broader VHF/AIS marine band. It includes similar durable construction, stainless steel ferrule, 20-foot RG-8X coax cable, and PL-259 connector.
All models are 50 ohm impedance, vertically polarized, and come with a 5-year limited warranty. The VHF antennas do not have DC grounding (read open on continuity), while the 5396-AIS model is DC grounded (reads shorted).
