The Shakespeare 6400-R and 6225-R antennas are high-performance Phase III™ series VHF marine antennas constructed with collinear-phased coaxial sleeve designs for omni-directional coverage and reliable VHF communication. With brass and copper elements featuring silver-plated outer conductors and copper inner conductors, these antennas deliver exceptional range and signal clarity. The 6400-R is a compact 4-foot antenna delivering 3 dB gain with a 150-watt max input power, ideal for installation aloft such as on hard tops or T-tops. The antenna includes a high-strength fiberglass radome with a high-gloss polyurethane finish designed to resist yellowing and harsh marine environments. It features stainless steel ferrules with standard 1-inch 14-thread male connections and a PL-259 connector mounted internally for quick mounting/dismounting.

The 6225-R provides a longer 8-foot length with 6 dB gain and supports higher power (up to 150 watts). It retains the collinear-phased 5/8-wave elements and robust construction including a stainless steel ferrule. The 6225-R is DC grounded (shorted continuity), unlike the 6400-R, providing enhanced electrical grounding. Both antennas have an SWR of less than 1.5:1 at 156.8 MHz and a bandwidth of 3 MHz within 2.0:1 VSWR with 50 ohm nominal impedance and vertical polarization.
