The Simrad AP70 MK2 is a professional-grade autopilot controller designed to meet the stringent demands of commercial vessels, including compliance with SOLAS (IMO, MED-B) regulations. It replaces the AP70 and AP80 models, offering a modernized interface combined with reliable, advanced steering capabilities. The system supports up to six rudders and/or thrusters, including heavy-duty rudder feedback for robust control in complex vessel configurations.

The AP70 MK2 features configurable work modes, low and high-speed settings, No Drift steering for maintaining course against wind and tide, and navigation steering for route following from Simrad or third-party chartplotters. Command transfer allows multiple control stations to manage the autopilot seamlessly, enhancing flexibility and operational safety. The unit supports a wide variety of drive types including water jet, azimuth pods, Voith-Schneider, rudder, and outboard systems.
